 Newest High Projected Technology (2006)
The Rapture II is the latest flat kite technology from Windwing. Our design philosophy is to push the performance envelope by applying technically correct principles to the problems of traction kiting. Clearly, inverted 'U' or 'C' shaped 'bucket' kites have a large area of non-contributing surface resulting in low projected area to actual area percentage.
The Rapture II has the highest projected area presently available with a high degree of form stability and attendant efficiency. It vary from the offerings of others in several significant ways including a straight rather than concave tip-to-tip trailing edge, lack of pulleys in the bar or bridle system and a particularly flat high projected area canopy curve when viewed from the front or rear. In order to achieve this, we have overcome the form stability problem with a combination of design factors including a pre-loaded tube structure and a torque-inducing bridle geometry which responsively apply the dynamic loads in a constructive manner. The result is a kite with excellent wind range, gust absorption, upwind ability, floaty jumps, speed and efficiency. Bar pressure is low and the bridle system is transparent and trouble-free in use. More about the Rapture II
Outrage is Windwing's highest aspect, highest performing, and highest jumping kite for the advanced rider who demands maximum performance to be all he or she can be.The range on the Outrage is insane by itself, but when coupled with the optional Windwing S.A.F.E. System bridle and bar, the result is exponential. The Outrage in S.A.F.E. mode has arguably the broadest range of any kite ever made.
Also new for this year, the Outrage has been lightened, strengthened, made easier to traditional re-launch, and has received improved handling and aerodynamic tweaks. For 2005 Windwing gave the Outrage a new 5-strut configuration to cut down on weight and drag, and wider inflatable wingtips (with removable battens) for improved lift and turning speed. This new kite is the first up in the air and the last to fall out of the sky. More about Outrage

A REVELATION IN KITE DESIGN
The Rapture concept is the product of an evolution that far surpasses other kites in terms of safety, performance and simplicity. The Rapture combines the best of Windwing's kite features, including near 100% de-power on demand AND rear-line auto-relaunch capabilities. The Rapture also has the quick turning speed of a medium-aspect, wth the lift and boost of an extreme high-aspect kite -- all in one complete package.
The wind range is dramatically improved on the Rapture in part because the front towpoints are moved forward relative to the center of effort, and positioned much higher than on a traditional 'inverted U' kite. This front towpoint configuration allows nearly 100% de-power in a 'sheeted-out' control bar position similar to the S.A.F.E. system found on the Windwing Rage II, without extra lines, bridles or battens.

INTRODUCING THE 2005 RAGE II All new for 2005, the Windwing Rage II is the most user-friendly, versatile, and safe kite on the planet. The Rage II is a quick-turning, medium-aspect, 5-strut kite with exceptional range and upwind performance. The Rage II has excellent traditional re-launchability, yet it is also compatible with the new Windwing S.A.F.E. system and bars, or the Windwing JumpStart re-launch system with most "normal" 4-line bars.
As with all Windwing kites, the Rage II has a higher projected area for its size due to a flatter "C" shape, instead of the more common eliptical shape of most kites. This causes more lift to be created from the center of the kite, which provides better efficiency, power, range, and upward mobility (higher jumps). The Rage II's integrated downward-sloping inflated wingtips are more aerodynamically efficient, and help the kite turn faster while reducing compressive steering
All IT TAKES IS A SPARK And you have a fire. That's the idea behind the Spark small inflatable kites from Windwing. TheSpark is designed as a school/on-water trainer kite that flies like a big inflatable and traditionally re-launches like one too.
The idea is to give the student as close a simulation to a full-sized kite as possible, without the danger and control issues inherent with larger kites. The Spark is NOT a toy, however. It is a real kite, and has all the flying characteristics of a traditional 4-line LEI. The Spark will generate upwind lift, and is designed to teach "traditional" kite re-launch techniques.
